The Elder Abuse in Chinese and South Asian Communities project is currently in development. It is a collaboration between the Canadian Centre for Elder Law, the University of Victoria Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health, the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly, Mosaic, and the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria. The project aims to develop culturally-relevant tools to help front-line workers, seniors, and their loved ones prevent, recognize, and respond to abuse in these communities, where elder abuse is often a highly stigmatized issue and considered a private family matter.
