Gloria Gutman, PhD is Professor/Director Emerita at the Simon Fraser University Gerontology Research Centre and Gerontology Department. Her awards and honours include the prestigious Rosalie Wolf Memorial Award – International category, conferred in 2005 for her long term support of elder abuse research and prevention. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors of the International Network for Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), and two provincial organizations concerned with elder abuse: BC Community Response Networks and Seniors First BC. Previously she was a member of the National Initiative for Care of the Elderly’s Elder Abuse Theme Team. Her current research and advocacy is focused on elder abuse in marginalized groups and ethnic minorities.
