Jill Hightower, MA retired as the Executive Director of the B.C. Institute Against Family Violence in 1998. She is the volunteer co-Chair B.C.Community Response Network Association, and has published and presented her research at North American and European conferences, and in community forums. She coordinated with Greta Smith an action research project that addresses issues of violence and abuse in the lives of older women in British Columbia. In 2003 she was honoured with the Simon Fraser University Gerontology Research Centre Senior Leadership Award. Jill is a member of the Premier’s Advisory Council on Aging and Seniors Issues and is on the advisory committee of the Older Women's Dialogue Project.
