This new workshop addresses the growing threat of AI-enabled fraud targeting older Canadians. As AI tools become more accessible, scammers are increasingly using tactics such as voice cloning, deepfake videos, and highly convincing phishing techniques to impersonate loved ones or fabricate financial emergencies. Older adults aged 55+ are disproportionately being targeted, often resulting in not only financial loss but experiencing shame, anxiety and social isolation as a result of being scammed.
