ABOUT
Join us Tuesday, October 27 at 1 p.m. EST on Zoom during Media Literacy Week (www.medialiteracyweek.ca).
Scammers are using AI to create fake voices, videos and messages that look and sound real, with older adults often the target. This workshop gives you the tools to spot these scams, respond safely and protect yourself and your family. By the end of this session you will:
- Understand how AI-enabled fraud works, including voice cloning and deepfake videos
- Recognize phishing and impersonation scams that appear to come from loved ones, financial institutions or other trusted sources
- Know what steps to take if you are targeted or think you might be a victim
This workshop is presented by MediaSmarts in partnership with the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA) and Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPO), with support from Meta.
ASL translation services will be provided
Please contact info@mediasmarts.ca for any questions about this workshop.
