INTERSECTIONALITY IN INFORMED DECISION MAKING

When
July 19, 2018
1 PM Atlantic time

PLEASE NOTE THIS WEBINAR WILL TAKE PLACE ENTIRELY IN FRENCH. NO ENGLISH TRANSLATION WILL BE OFFERED AT THIS TIME.

The Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (New Brunswick) will be hosting an hour-long webinar in French on July 19th, 2018 to discuss intimate partner violence against older women.

Intimate partner violence does not stop with age but rather evolves over the course of a relationship; an aging population will result in an increase in the needs and services for older women who experience IPV in later life.

The goal of this webinar is to raise awareness of IPV as it affect older adults, specifically older women. The presentation will have a gender-specific lens and will focus on survivor resilience.

You can also follow the conversation live on Twitter at #AbuseofOlderWomen

Presenters:
Danie Gagnon,  Research Assistant at Abuse & Neglect of Older Research / Équipe de recherché sur l'abus et la negligence des personnes âgées

Norma Dubé, Board member, Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre and Fergusson Foundation

This webinar is a great opportunity for scholars, health care providers, personal support workers, government representatives, and everyone in between, to learn more about the unique experiences and needs of a vulnerable population.
