The Geriatric Services Conference brings together geriatric professionals from across British Columbia to share in a comprehensive day of learning. Delegates include physicians, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other members of the interdisciplinary team who come to discuss research, best practices, and health care ethics in the field of gerontology. 


A high-caliber education opportunity, the Conference draws in professionals from across BC to share and discuss research, best practices and health care ethics in the field of gerontology. 

This year’s conference Shaping the Future is being presented on Friday, April 29, 2016 at theVancouver Convention Centre. The program features a number of current hot topics and features researchers, clinicians and policymakers.

Objectives
Provide a forum for graduate students engaged in aging research to:

  • Disseminate aging research to fellow graduate students,
  • Establish opportunities for interprofessional collaboration on future projects related to aging,
  • Promote a showcase aging research at the University of Waterloo.

The Grey Matters Conference is a two-day event that offers provincial service providers opportunities to network, gain knowledge and increase awareness of issues, supports and services for seniors.

Alberta Seniors and Housing, the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie and Northern Alberta Development Council are proud to co-host Grey Matters 2016 Conference. This is the only conference of its kind in Western Canada.

This unique conference provides seniors' service providers with the opportunity to hear from dynamic speakers and learn about best practices, emerging issues and trends that enhance seniors health and wellness. The focus of the conference is Changing Faces of Seniors.
