Meet Kathy
Kathy Majowski, Tyndall, Manitoba
Kathy is CNPEA’s board co-Chair. Together with Sandra Hirst, Kathy leads the Network’s board meetings, and ensures that the strategic vision, goals and mission of the organization are realized. Kathy sits on the Sustainability, Communications, Nominations and Recruitment, and Strategic Plan Review committees. Her interest in working with older adults started young; Kathy worked in a long-term care facility while she completed her nursing education. Her nursing career has since provided many opportunities to work with older adults. Kathy is currently working with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), as a Community Facilitator with the Healthy Aging Resource Team. There, she connects adults 55+ to services and resources within Winnipeg’s core area. Before the pandemic she also travelled to various congregate living and 55+ independent living blocks, informing and educating older adults about the various resources available to them within Winnipeg. Kathy happened upon CNPEA while looking up resources. CNPEA's mission and goals aligned with her interests and experiences, so she decided to apply for a role on its Board. During the pandemic Kathy has been keeping busy reading non-fiction books on a wide variety of topics. After the pandemic, she is hoping to take a road trip to the East coast, specifically, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and PEI.
